“Hello World!” Program

Create the following “Hello World” program and save it as hello.c:

int main()
{
printf("Hello World!\n");
return 0;
}

Next, compile the program using the following command line.

arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc hello.c -o hello

This will create an executable file hello, copy it the EV3 brick using the following command.

scp hello robot@ev3dev.local:~/

Use the password maker. Once the program has been copied in the card, use the ssh application to login the EV3 brick.

ssh robot@ev3dev.local

Once you log in the EV3 brick, run the program using:

./hello

This should show a “Hello World!” message on the screen:

Windows users may use the command windows (cmd) and PuTTY to do the same instructions given for the standard firmware.
